INCIDENT: H&S 11378 - Possession of Narcotics for Sale
LOCATION: Kickapoo Trail and Benicia Trail, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Matthew Allen Hieb, 36-year-old male, Resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Deputies G. Estrada and E. Swink were conducting proactive patrol in the Town of Yucca Valley. The deputies conducted a pedestrian check at the Park & Ride near the intersection of Kickapoo Trail and Benicia Trail in Yucca Valley. During the contact, deputies contacted and identified Matthew Allen Hieb, a known transient in the area. A records check confirmed Hieb had an active $50,000 warrant for his arrest.
Following his arrest, deputies conducted a search of his person and property and recovered clear evidence consistent with possession of narcotics for sale. Hieb was found in possession of approximately 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 30 grams of suspected heroin, narcotics paraphernalia, a digital scale, multiple small plastic baggies, and U.S. currency.
Hieb was transported and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for violation of H&S 11378, Possession of Narcotics for Sale.
