The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 

MONDAY, APRIL 27, 2026:

9:17 AM Community Service Officer (CSO) Lau investgiated a vehicle theft reported near Sycamore & Magnolia Streets.

9:58 PM Officer Orozco conducted a pedestrian stop near Magnolia St & Rich Ave. A 31-year-old male was cited for an outstanding warrant.

11:08 PM Officer Soto investigated a theft of merchandise from a store.

TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026:

4:02 AM Officer Soto responded to a disturbance near Cedar Blvd & Balentine Dr. A 23-year-old male was arrested for robbery. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

3:10 PM Officer Losier investigated a package theft reported near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave.

7:33 PM Officer Medina recovered a stolen vehicle near Radcliffe Ave & Bennington Dr.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29, 2026:

12:25 PM Officer Johnson investigated a retail theft reported near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd.

6:24 PM Officer Felix responded to a disturbance reported near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 21-year-old male was arrested for assault. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

11:10 PM Officer Orozco conducted a pedestrian stop near Cedar & Stevenson Boulevards. A 31-year-old male was arrested for narcotics and an outstanding warrant. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

THURSDAY, APRIL 30, 2026:

12:31 PM Officer Johnson cited a driver with false vehicle registration information near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd.

FRIDAY, MAY 01, 2026:

12:32 PM Vehicle Abatement Officer Reyes (VAO) recovered a stolen vehicle near Haley St & Mirabeau Dr.

3:37 PM CSO Mora investigated a package and mail theft report on Edgewater Dr.

5:15 PM Officer Cervantes investigated a jewelry snatch that occurred earlier in the week near Newark & Cedar Boulevards.

5:17 PM Officer Pacheco investigated a forgery report on Newpark Mall Rd. A 42-year-old male was arrested for attempting to pass a fictitious check, resisting arrest and burglary. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

SATURDAY, MAY 02, 2026:

11:28 AM Officer Lor investigated a vehicle theft reported near Cedar Blvd & Thornton Ave.

4:49 PM Officer Lomeli arrested a 52-year-old male for driving while intoxicated near Haley & Bettencourt Streets. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

SUNDAY, MAY 03, 2026:

1:30 AM Officer Benjamin responded to an assault reported near Joaquin Murieta Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 32-year-old female was arrested for domestic violence. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.

4:12 PM Officer Lomeli investigated a bicycle theft reported on Newpark Mall Road.

9:31 PM Officer Stevenson conducted a traffic stop near Cedar Blvd & Cedar Court.  A 54-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and causing a hit-and-run collision. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
