LOCATION: Petaluma Road / Sepulveda Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Santos Perez, 27-year-old, Resident of Victorville
Alejandro Rivera, 26-year-old, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at approximately 10:49 p.m., Deputy D. Ruiz was in the area of Petaluma Road and Sepulveda Drive when she observed a vehicle driving recklessly.
Deputy Ruiz initiated a traffic stop, however the driver failed to yield, leading deputies on a pursuit. During the pursuit, the vehicle drove off the roadway and into an embankment. The driver, Santos Perez, fled on foot but was detained without further incident. The passenger of the vehicle, Alejandro Rivera was also detained.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a nitrous oxide tank.
Santos Perez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 69 – Resisting a Peace Officer, H&S 11378 – Possession of a Control Substance for Sale. Alejandro Rivera was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 69 – Resisting a Peace Officer, and P.C. 381b – Possession of Nitrous Oxide.
