DETAILS:
During the early morning hours of May 8, 2026, Amarillo Police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the downtown area near the 100 block of SW 7th.
Officers secured the area and detained multiple individuals during the investigation. Evidence was recovered at the scene, including firearms.
At this time, no injuries have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
