The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from April 26th to May 2nd.
April 26th
Driving Under the Influence - Carlson Blvd/Panama Ave:
At 2:02 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence. After booking, the driver was issued a citation and released to a sober friend.
Driving Under the Influence - Central Ave/Yosemite Ave:
At 3:51 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence. After booking, the driver was issued a citation and released to a sober friend.
April 27th

April 28th
Petty Theft – 11600 San Pablo Ave:
At 2:05 PM, the victim reports an item stolen from their mail room.
Battery - 3000 block of San Mateo St:
At 9:25 PM, an officer reports the victim was pushed during a verbal argument with a known suspect. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. The suspect was contacted via telephone and declined to give a statement about the incident. The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
April 29th
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs/Driving on Suspended License/Possess Narcotic Equipment – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 11:44 AM, Officers were dispatched to Walgreens in response to a non-injury collision. The driver was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, was driving on a suspended license and was in possession of narcotics equipment. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 11555 San Pablo Ave. (DDs Discounts):
At 2:48 PM, Officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle via Flock cameras. The vehicle was located running and unoccupied in front of DDs Discounts. The vehicle was recovered.
April 30th
Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave/Alameda Ave:
At 1:13 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for Driving Under Influence. The driver was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, then released to a sober relative on a citation.
Warrant Arrest - 11900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 4:10 AM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for two outstanding warrants. The subject was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking and released on a citation.
Fail To Register as Sex Offender- Ohlone Greenway/Fairmount Ave:
At 12:42 AM, an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a bicyclist and discovered the subject was a sex offender that had not recently registered as required. The subject was placed under arrest. During a search incident to arrest, the subject was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and two glass smoking pipes. The subject was booked the the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Commercial Burglary – 3020 El Cerrito Plaza (T-Mobile):
At 10:17 AM, the victim reports a suspect entered the store, took items, and left without paying for them.
March 31st
Auto Burglary – 3200 block of Santa Clara Ave:
At 10:04 AM, the victim reports their vehicle was broken into and items were taken.
April 1st
Possession of Controlled Substance/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/probation violation – 11755 San Pablo Ave:
At 12:50 AM, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for being in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The subject was transported to El Cerrito Police Department for booking. While in booking it was determined the subject was on probation. The subject was issued a citation and released.
Residential Burglary/Vandalism – 800 Block of S. 55th Street:
At 9:06 AM, the victim reports their residence was broken into and several items were damaged.
Residential Burglary – 2500 block of Tulare Ave:
At 10:03 AM, the victim reports a suspect entered their residence and took items.
Forgery – 11299 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:25 PM, an officer reports the suspect attempted to use a fictious bill to purchase items.
Recovered Property – 400 Block of Ashbury Ave
At 8:36 PM, an officer recovered a reported stolen license plate.
April 2nd
Located Stolen Vehicle – 6500 Block of Manila Ave:
At 9:55 AM, Officers located and recovered a reported stolen vehicle.
Shoplifting/Prior Convictions of Theft/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 8:10 PM, an officer accepted the citizens arrest of a subject who was caught shoplifting. Search incident to arrest drug paraphernalia was located on the subject. The subject was booked at El Cerrito Police Department where it was discovered he had multiple prior theft convictions. The subject was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
