PRESS RELEASE: West Hollywood Station Investigates Felony Burglary #LASD
On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 1:20 a.m., West Hollywood Station deputies responded to the 8500 block of Melrose Avenue regarding a burglary in progress call for service.
Upon arrival, deputies located a truck used to smash the window of the location. No suspects were located at the scene. Clothing was obtained from the location. The stolen merchandise and property damage values are pending at this time.
The suspects are described as male adults wearing all black and fled the scene in multiple vehicles in various directions.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no other information at this time. It is unknown if this burglary is related to any of the burglaries that occurred in neighboring jurisdictions.
We understand that these incidents can cause concern within our community; however public safety remains our highest priority. We have increased patrols in the area to further support the safety of our residents. Detectives are working diligently to identify those responsible and continue to follow up on all leads.
We urge community members to remain aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity.
