On Saturday, May 9, 2026, at approximately 10:19 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle driving in a manner consistent with driving under the influence, specifically noting the vehicle was unable to maintain its lane. The officer attempted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Lakeville Street and Caulfield Lane; however, the driver failed to yield to the officer’s lights and sirens. The driver was later identified as Antonio Gonzalez, a 68-year-old Petaluma resident.

Due to Gonzalez’s failure to yield, a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The driver ultimately yielded to officers in the area of Casa Grande Road near Lakeville Highway. Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident after leading officers on a pursuit lasting just over one mile and reaching speeds of approximately 65 mph.

While speaking with officers, Gonzalez displayed signs of being impaired by drugs. He was arrested and transported to the Sonoma County Jail on the following charges:

• 23152(f) CVC – Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
• 2800.2(a) CVC – Felony Reckless Evading
