May 8, 2026:
- Officer Johnson responded to the 1000 block of Fleming Avenue for a found shell casing.
- Officer Morse was dispatched to the Jackson Crossing Mall for a subject shoplifting. A 31-year-old female was transported to the hospital. Retail fraud charges will be sought on the female.
- Officer Schram was assisting Officer Morse with the incident above when she was struck by a vehicle’s mirror. The driver did not stop, but was located in the area. The 42-year-old female driver was arrested for reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident. Officer Schram was treated for a minor injury.
- Officers responded to the 300 block of Van Buren Street for a suspicious subject. A 34-year-old male was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of narcotics.
- Officer Panther conducted a traffic stop at East Michigan Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The 34-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
- Officer Goble located a wanted subject near Homewild Avenue and Gilbert Street. A 42-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics and an outstanding felony warrant.
- Officers were dispatched to Biddle Street and South Blackstone Street for shots fired. Four shooting victims were located and transported to the hospital. All four victims are in stable condition. A suspect has been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
- Officers responded to the 100 block of West Mansion Street for a disorderly subject. A 47-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
- Officers were dispatched to Cooley Place and East Biddle Street for a single vehicle accident. The 42-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated (3rd offense).
- Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 600 block of Center Street. A 30-year-old female was arrested for domestic assault.
- Officer Mills was dispatched to the 300 block of Van Buren Street for a personal welfare check. A 22-year-old female was transported to the hospital.
