Victorville Man Arrested for Reckless Burning After Several Fires Were Reported

INCIDENT: P.C. 452 – Reckless Burning
LOCATION: Stoddard Wells Road / State Highway 18, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Geovanne Rocha, 36-year-old Transient of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Thursday, May 7, 2026, at approximately 1:14 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to reports of multiple brush fires in the area of Stoddard Wells Road and State Highway 18 in Victorville.
Deputies received a description of the suspect as a Hispanic adult male who wore a black sweatshirt and blue pants. During an area check, deputies located Geovanne Rocha near 7th Street and D Street. Deputies located a lighter and a butane can in Rocha’s possession.
The Victorville Fire Department responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fires. No injuries were reported.
Geovanne Rocha was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, P.C. 452 – Reckless Burning.
