...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHEAST PLAINS, NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS, CENTRAL HIGHLANDS, AND EAST CENTRAL PLAINS... .A very dry airmass combined with gusty westerly winds and increasingly dry fuels will bring several hours of critical fire weather conditions across eastern New Mexico on Thursday afternoon and evening. Any fires that do start will spread rapidly. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Fire Weather Watch.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northeast Plains (Zone 104), Northeast Highlands (Zone 123), Central Highlands (Zone 125), and East Central Plains (Zone 126).
* TIMING...From Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 8 to 14 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
