A number of items were discussed at the Council Regular Meeting last night with regards to the 2026 Waldwick Municipal Pool Season.

Pool Manager

• Resolution 2026-144 appointed Brian Doyle as the Pool Manager for 2026. 
• Mr. Doyle came highly recommended as he previously served as Assistant Pool Manager in Ramsey and Teaneck.
• Mr. Doyle is also certified to fill the role of Pool Manager.
• Mr. Doyle is a teacher, football coach, golf coach and previously a high school swimming coach.
• We are very excited to have Brian’s leadership and experience at the Waldwick Pool, and he is very excited to get started!

Lifeguards

• Resolution 2026-146 appointed lifeguards for 2026 season.
• So far we have 18 returning guards and 4 new guards and continue to receive applications each day. It's not too late to get your application, cover letter & certifications to us!
• As this is an ongoing process, every year lifeguards are appointed at three or four different Council meetings. There will be resolutions on the agenda for at the May 26 and June 9 Council Regular meetings.
• Any returning lifeguards or new lifeguards who are interested, should go on the Borough’s website www.waldwicknj.gov, complete the application and email it back to us with a cover letter, and any certifications to [email protected]. The completed documents can also be dropped off in the Clerk’s office.

Assistant Pool Managers

Interviews are ongoing for the position of Assistant Pool Managers. We will have a recommendation to the Mayor and Council on the agenda at the May 26 Council Meeting.

Opening Day

PLEASE NOTE: Opening Day has been moved to Saturday, June 20, 2026. The pool will be open daily from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm through Monday, September 7, 2026.

Online Registration

• Early bird online registration will open Tuesday, May 26 at 9:00 am and extend through Sunday, July 5. Monday, July 6 registration will go to the Seasonal Rate.
• The fee structure will remain the same as last year. Midland Park residents are welcome at the Waldwick resident rate.
• Out-of-town memberships are also be available.
• Additional details regarding membership is forthcoming.

Swim Team

• Resolution 2026-145 appointed Swim Coach Meredith Stroud and Assistant Swim Coach Mikayla Sticco for 2026. 
• Both coaches have been with the team for the past few years and have produced successful seasons. We are excited to have them back!
• Once information is available from the coaches on registration and start date, we will provide it.

School Pool Parties

ALL school pool parties that were on last night’s agenda were approved by the Mayor & Council including: 

• WHS Senior Class of 2026 BBQ
• Waldwick Middle School PSO 8^th Grade Promotional Party
• Class Activity Parents of Traphagen & Crescent 5^th Grade Splash Party
• Waldwick Girls Scouts End of Year Pool Party.

No one was turned away. We have staff available to cover these events.
