Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee Traffic Safety Advisory

The Angels Camp Police Department is excited to welcome residents and visitors to the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee taking place May 14–17, 2026. As one of the community’s largest annual events, increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic is expected throughout Angels Camp, especially along Main Street (SR 49), shopping centers, bus stops, and the downtown area from mid-morning through late evening.

Drivers should YIELD, slow down, remain patient, watch carefully for pedestrians and motorcyclists, and use extra caution while traveling through the city during the fair weekend. Increased traffic during the event also results in a higher number of traffic collisions each year. Motorists are also asked to be mindful of officers conducting traffic enforcement stops along roadways and officers directing traffic throughout the event to assist with maintaining the safe and efficient flow of traffic.

The Angels Camp Police Department will have additional officers on patrol throughout the weekend focusing on traffic safety, impaired driving enforcement, and collision response. The Department encourages everyone attending the fair to drink responsibly, plan ahead, and arrange for a sober driver, rideshare, or other safe transportation before consuming alcohol. Driving under the influence places lives at risk and will be strictly prohibited.

Community members are also encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1 when it is safe to do so. Prompt reporting helps officers respond quickly and contributes to keeping our roadways safe for everyone attending the event.

Additionally, a parade is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, which will directly impact traffic flow on South Main Street (SR 49) from Stanislaus Avenue to Vallecito Road / Finnegan Lane. Road closures are scheduled between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays during this time period.

The Angels Camp Police Department appreciates the cooperation and support of the community and looks forward to a safe and successful fair weekend for everyone.

“Proud of our Past…Protecting our Future.”
