The Borough of River Edge is sharing information from PSE&G to keep residents informed as the utility begins the next phase of natural gas reliability upgrades in town.
PSE&G is scheduled to begin work on or shortly after Monday, May 18, 2026, along the following roadways. During this phase of the project, crews are expected to start on Concord Drive and work north through town to Continental Avenue:
- Concord Drive (entire roadway)
- Madison Avenue (entire roadway)
- Center Avenue (from Madison Avenue south to the dead end)
- Tenney Avenue (from Kinderkamack Road to Elm Avenue)
- Greenway Terrace (entire roadway)
- Bogert Road (from Continental Avenue to Manning Avenue)
- Continental Avenue (entire roadway)
- Monroe Avenue (entire roadway)
The River Edge Police Department will have officers assigned to the construction zones to assist with traffic control and to help residents access their driveways as needed. When construction is scheduled directly in front of homes, officers will notify homeowners by knocking on the door.
Residents are asked to obey all posted parking restrictions. Temporary parking restrictions will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of work on each roadway. Vehicles parked in violation may be subject to ticketing and towing.
PSE&G anticipates completing the gas main installation work by the end of summer 2026, with full roadway and property restoration expected by spring 2027. (Weather Permitting) The utility appreciates residents’ patience as these upgrades are completed.
Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with limited extended hours if necessary. The overall project is expected to continue through Spring 2027, weather permitting.
