Boater Arrested for DUI After Crashing Vessel on Colorado River Shoreline Near Needles
DATE/TIME: Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximatley 6:22 p.m.
INCIDENT: NON-INJURY BOAT COLLISION / BOATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
LOCATION: Colorado River, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Coy Cameron, 24-years-old, Prescott, AZ
VICTIM(S): STATE OF CALIFORNIA
SUMMARY: On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 6:22 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a single-vessel non-injury collision near the 3700 Block of Dead End Road in Needles on the Colorado River.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a vessel had collided with the California shoreline. Deputies identified Coy Cameron as the operator of the vessel. During the investigation, deputies determined Cameron was operating the vessel while under the influence of alcohol.
Coy Cameron was subsequently arrested on the above mentioned charges and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Cameron was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a future court date. This case is on-going.
