The Sandy Fire began in Simi Valley on the morning of Monday, May 18, 2026.
Evacuation orders have been issued and are currently in effect for the following Simi Valley zones: 27, 28, 32A, 33, 34, and 35.
Hard road closures are in place at the intersections of Fitzgerald Road and Sequoia Avenue, and Talbert Avenue and Fir Avenue.
