Apple Valley Deputies Seek Additional Victims Following Human Trafficking Arrest

DATE/TIME: May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

INCIDENT: Violent Assault Investigation

LOCATION: 20000 block of Yuma Road, Apple Valley

SUSPECT: Isaiah Banks Rupert, 18-year-old male, Apple Valley

VICTIM: 17-year-old female, Resident of Bakersfield


SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Apple Valley Station responded to reports near Yuma Road and Sago Road regarding a woman who appeared to be in distress.

When deputies arrived, they contacted the suspect, Isaiah Banks Rupert, and the victim. Investigators determined the victim had sustained multiple injuries and had been sexually assaulted. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Rupert was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center on charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, human trafficking, domestic assault, and attempted murder. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are releasing Rupert’s photograph.
