Police Seek Help Locating Two Individuals in Shooting Investigation
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating two individuals pictured here in connection with a shooting that occurred on Friday, May 7, 2026.
The individual, wearing a hat, is only wanted for questioning, and detectives are attempting to identify the second individual in the hooded sweatshirt.
Police responded to reports of a shooting in progress that occurred at approximately 3:57 p.m. at Bloomfield Avenue and Crittenden Street. Officers responded, canvassed the area, and located three shell casings. During the investigation, detectives learned that two individuals—both wearing black clothing—were riding a motorcycle eastbound on Bloomfield Avenue. The passenger on the motorcycle fired several shots at another individual riding a motorcycle traveling westbound on Bloomfield Avenue.
