On May 21, 2026, at 9:41 p.m. Deputy Levi Sims conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2025 Nissan Sentra for speeding on US 41 near State Road 56. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Sims detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. At that point Deputy Sims began a roadside OWI investigation which included advanced roadside impaired driving enforcement tests. Deputy Michael Bates administered a Drug Recognition Expert Evaluation. At the conclusion of the inquiry the driver, 41-year-old Darin Graham of Murfreesboro, Tennessee was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
Deputy Wyatt Lashbrook assisted Deputies Sims and Bates in their investigation.
