During the month of April, 2026, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Investigation Bureau identified (S) Colleen Whiting in connection with an ongoing embezzlement investigation involving alleged financial misconduct at Humphrey, Giacopuzzi & Associates Equine Hospital.
 
During the subsequent investigation into Whiting, detectives discovered while working as a bookkeeper between the years 2022 and 2024, Whiting embezzled approximately $67,000 from the business.
 
On May 20th, 2026, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Investigations Bureau and Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) located Whiting in the city of Goleta where she was taken into custody.
 
Whiting was later booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for a violation of California Penal Code 503 – embezzlement. Whiting’s bail was set at $20,000.
