At 433 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms 11 miles north of Newkirk, or 30 miles west of Tucumcari, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Conchas, Conchas Lake State Park, Conchas Dam, Montoya and Newkirk. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 293 and 319. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 59 and 102.
