Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into 43-year-old Darryl Braxton in reference to illegal drug sales in the 100 block of Ashton Street. On May 19th at approximately 10:15 a.m., officers executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Ashton Street. Braxton was located and taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered a loaded .9mm handgun, a loaded .380 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number, ammunition, approximately 19.36 grams of crack cocaine, $3,170 in U.S. currency, and drug packaging material.
Braxton has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony- Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (Tier 2)
- Possession of a Firearm of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Five Counts
- Possession of a Firearm with a Obliterated Serial Number
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Tier 2)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $207,00 cash-only bail.
