Santa Clarita Man Arrested After Deputies Find Gun, Illegal Fireworks in Vehicle

INCIDENT: PC29825(A)- Possession of a firearm with an active restraining order
LOCATION: 9500 block of Base Line Rd, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Christopher Aaron Bugarin, 42-year-old male, Resident of Santa Clarita
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 4:06 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service in reference to male subject found unconscious, inside of a vehicle.
Upon arrival deputies found the subject, later identified as Christopher Aaron Bugarin, unconscious and sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. During the investigation, deputies learned Bugarin was impaired and not permitted to be operating a vehicle. An inventory search of Bugarin’s vehicle was conducted, and a 9mm handgun was located along with illegal fireworks. Through investigation, it was learned that Bugarin had an active restraining order preventing him from possessing a firearm.
Bugarin was later arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC29825(A)- Possession of a firearm with an active restraining order.
