Fire Weather Watch until 08:00PM Thursday

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 1 PM to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 486 Eastern Uinta Basin, Fire Weather Zone 487 Book Cliffs and Fire Weather Zone 490 Colorado River Basin.

* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 1 PM to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...8 to 13 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA ... PARADOX VALLEY ... EASTERN UINTAH BASIN ... BOOK CLIFFS ... COLORADO RIVER BASIN
