SUMMARY: On Friday, May 22, 2026, at approximately 7:40 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station were actively patrolling in the area of Highland Avenue and Day Creek Boulevard when deputies received a notification from an Automatic License Plate Reader regarding a stolen vehicle in the area.

Deputies conducted an extensive area check and located the vehicle. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver failed to yield, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle traveled northbound on Day Creek Boulevard and when the driver attempted to enter the eastbound 210 freeway,  deputies conducted a successful Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver.  The vehicle became disabled and three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. The driver and front passenger were apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The third subject was not located. All occupants of the vehicle were juveniles.

Through investigation, deputies learned the juvenile driver was involved in a pursuit in San Bernardino in a stolen vehicle earlier in the day. The juvenile driver was arrested and booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall for VC2800.2(A) Felony Evading/Disregard for Safety, PC496D Possession of Stolen Property, and PC148 Resisting an Officer’s Arrest. The passenger juvenile was cited and released to his mother.
