Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges following an investigation.
On May 21st at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force initiated an investigation in the 500 block of East 3rd Street in reference to multiple wanted subjects. Officers executed a search warrant in the 500 block of East 3rd Street and located 19-year-old Shahid Reeves-Jackson, who was taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered a loaded .9mm handgun.
Reeves-Jackson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Two Counts
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 cash-only bail.
