INCIDENT: Non Injury Boat Collision
LOCATION: Colorado River inlet to Park Moabi Channel, Needles, CA
SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 12:38 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a boat collision on the Colorado River near the inlet to Park Moabi in Needles.
The investigation revealed a 2001 Advantage vessel and a 1993 Eliminator vessel were approaching the inlet to Park Moabi when the operator of the Eliminator vessel failed to safely navigate rough water conditions. As a result, the Eliminator vessel subsequently collided with the port/transom side of the Advantage vessel causing moderate fiberglass damage to the vessel. No injuries were reported. Alcohol was not determined to be a factor in this incident. This collision remains under investigation by the San Bernardino County Marine Enforcement Unit.
