Suspect arrested after ramming vehicle into local business and law enforcement vehicles.
On 5/27/2026, at approximately 0333 hours, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle that had collided with a business in the 1700 block of Erringer Road.
Responding officers located a gray Chevrolet Tahoe with significant front-end damage that had left the area and conducted a traffic stop. During the encounter, the driver, identified as Frank Blessing, rammed a patrol vehicle multiple times and drove toward an officer before his vehicle became disabled after striking a wall at a nearby residence.
Officers attempted to take Blessing into custody; however, he remained noncompliant and armed with a knife. TASER deployments were used during the incident, and officers were ultimately able to safely take Blessing into custody.
The investigation determined the suspect had intentionally driven his vehicle into a local business after becoming upset that the business was closed.
One officer sustained minor injuries during the incident. No community members were injured.
Blessing was arrested on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, assault on a peace officer, resisting an executive officer, vandalism, and driving under the influence.
