Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on May 27, 2026, at approximately 0116 hours, Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a Fatal ATV accident in a field off of Kirk Lake Rd, Vandalia, Newberg Township Cass County, Michigan.
The investigation showed that a Stacie Hershburger-Hebron (37 yrs of Vandalia) was operating an ATV in a hay field when she struck a pole causing the ATV to land on its side trapping Stacie under it. Stacie was pronounced deceased on scene from her injuries.
Assisting agencies were SEPSA Ambulance, Newberg Ambulance, Victim Services, and Newberg Township Fire
The incident remains under investigation.
