INCIDENT: PC 244 - Assault with Chemicals
LOCATION: 1700 block of Needles Hwy, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Troy Desselles, 55-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Adult Male
SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at approximately 7:09 a.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Needles Hwy reference an assault that just occurred.
During the investigation, deputies determined that the suspect, identified as Troy Desselles, followed the victim into his apartment complex after a verbal altercation and assaulted him by spraying him with a chemical agent, later identified as bear attack deterrent. The victim sustained injuries and was treated at the scene by responding medical personnel.
Troy Desselles was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking on the above charges. Desselles remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $40,000.00, awaiting a court hearing. This investigation is ongoing.
