Narrative:
Moorpark, California – On May 22nd, 2026, deputies with the Moorpark Police Department Traffic Bureau conducted a Driver’s License/DUI checkpoint. The checkpoint was conducted on Campus Park Drive, east of Julliard Avenue, in the city of Moorpark from 6:00 PM until 1:00 AM.
 
A total of 125 drivers were screened. No arrests were made. Numerous drivers were cited for various vehicle code violations.
 
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.  Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
