**UPDATE-05/28/2026**
APD advises a third suspect has been arrested in connection to the Westminster Apartments shooting that occurred on May 2, 2026, at 2415 S Coulter. On May 28th, 2026, Amarillo Police Dept Homicide detectives obtained a murder warrant for Excellent Vyizigiro, BM, 17, for his involvement in the shooting that occurred on May 2, 2026.
Excellent was taken into custody this evening and subsequently booked into the Potter County Detention Center for a charge of Felony Murder. All three suspects involved in this incident will also receive charges for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon/ mass shooting x 10, for each of the 10 victims that were injured during the shooting at Westminster Apartments.
This investigation remains ongoing.
