On May 24, 2026, Redwood City Police officers were dispatched to the area of Middlefield Road and Beech Street regarding a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. Upon arrival, officers located a 72-year-old female pedestrian near the intersection. The pedestrian was transported by AMR to a local hospital emergency room, where she was later pronounced deceased.

UPDATE: On May 25, 2026, officers and detectives located video surveillance footage that captured the collision. Investigators determined the suspect vehicle was a late-model white Toyota Tundra.
