One injured in Jefferson Township Crash 
Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on 05/30/2026 at approximately 2048 hours, his deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Dailey Rd and Pine Lake St., Jefferson Township, Cass County Michigan.
The investigation showed that a vehicle driven Mazzi Katzen (22 years old from Lake Oswego, OR) was eastbound on Pine Lake Rd. when she failed the yield to oncoming traffic, hitting a vehicle southbound on Dailey driven by Jesus Beltra Rico (33 years old from Goshen, IN). Speed may have been a factor for the southbound vehicle.
Katzen was transported by SMCAS EMS to Elkhart General Hospital.
Assisting agencies on scene were OTEPD, SMCAS EMS, Edwardsburg Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation.
