INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Oak Glen Road / South of Chapman Heights Road, Yucaipa
INVOLVED PARTY: Matthew Russell, 41-year-old, Resident of Redlands
SUMMARY: On Saturday, May 30, 2026, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Yucaipa deputies along with rescue personnel from Yucaipa Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a single vehicle motorcycle collision near the intersection of Oak Glen Road and Chapman Heights Road.
Through investigation, it was determined that Russell was riding his motorcycle south on Oak Glen Road at an unknown speed. Just after passing Chapman Heights Road, the motorcycle struck the north curb, slid along the curb, and struck a fire hydrant. Multiple citizens stopped to render aid and called emergency services. Life saving measures were continued by medical personnel however Russell succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
