Amarillo man has died from traffic crash on S. Washington Saturday night.

DETAILS: On Saturday, May 30, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Amarillo Police Department officers responded to the 4000 block of S. Washington on a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Washington while a northbound vehicle was turning onto SW 40th Avenue. The motorcycle rider lost control while attempting to stop, laid the motorcycle down, and struck an unrelated vehicle in the turn lane before coming to rest.
The motorcycle rider, identified as 39-year-old William Bartlett, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. On Sunday, Bartlett died from his injuries. His family has been notified.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit.
