Scam Alert: Fraudulent Jury Duty Phone Calls Reported 
The Unalaska Police Department has received reports of a phone scam targeting local residents.
The caller falsely claims that the recipient missed jury duty and must immediately pay a fine using gift cards or other forms of electronic payment to avoid arrest or other legal consequences.
This is a scam.
No court, law enforcement agency, or government agency will demand payment by gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or similar methods. Do not provide money, gift card numbers, banking information, or personal information to anyone making these claims.
