Activity for May 29-31, 2026: Officers were dispatched to 242 calls for service, made 11 arrests, and conducted 59 traffic stops.
May 29, 2026:
- Officers were dispatched to 110 calls for service, made 6 arrests, and conducted 21 traffic stops.
- Officer Castro was dispatched to the 600 block of Oak Street for the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
- Officer Elston responded to the 1500 block of Jackson Street for a B&E in progress. While in the area, he conducted a traffic stop and made contact with suspects from the B&E. A 49-year-old male and a 57-year-old male were arrested for the B&E, CCW, and providing false information to police, as one subject provided a false name to Officer Elston.
- Officer Beekel went to Kohl’s in the Jackson Crossing for a retail fraud incident. One subject, a 49-year-old female, was arrested. Another suspect was identified.
- Officers were sent to the area of Williams/Wilkins Streets for disorderly subjects. Officer Panther made contact with a subject and ultimately arrested the 32-year-old male for OWI; PBT was 0.18.
- Officer Soloman made contact with a subject in the area of Hill Street/Hill Place. He ultimately arrested the 57-year-old male for an outstanding felony warrant.
- Officers were dispatched to the area of MLK and Mason St. for a female laying on the sidewalk. Sergeant Kruso determined one subject in the area had an outstanding warrant out of Kalamazoo. The 40-year-old female was taken into custody on that warrant.
- Officers were dispatched to 75 calls for service, made 1 arrest, and conducted 29 traffic stops.
- Officer Hogan was sent to the 200 block of Homecrest regarding a stolen vehicle. Later that evening, Officer Frazier responded to the 1000 block of Cypress Drive to recover that stolen vehicle.
- Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Third Street for a subject with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The 34-year-old male was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
- Sergeant Stanton was sent to an apartment at the Alpine Lake Apartment complex to assist the Jackson Fire Department. A 63-year-old male was located deceased inside an apartment.
- Officer Beekel took a report of a stolen trailer in the 100 block of North Street. The trailer was ultimately located outside of Jackson County.
- Lieutenants Postma and Lillie, along with Detective Brooks, worked the Gus Macker basketball tournament.
- Officer Beekel conducted foot patrol at Jackson Crossing.
- Officer Farnsworth assisted the Jackson Fire Department in a fire investigation in the 400 block of Perrine Street.
- Officer Frazier conducted a traffic stop near Cortland/Blackstone for a vehicle with no headlights. The 20-year-old male driver was arrested for OWI; PBT was 0.099.
- Officer Soloman, along with other officers, were dispatched to the 300 block of Prospect Street for a domestic disturbance. A 37-year-old male assaulted his 32-year-old girlfriend.
May 31, 2026:
- Officers were dispatched to 57 calls for service, made 4 arrests, and conducted 9 traffic stops.
- Officer Goings was sent to the 1400 block of East Michigan Avenue for a weapons complaint. Officer Elston made contact with two subjects; a 22-year-old male and a 23-year-old male who are suspected of assault, CCW, and Resisting & Obstructing. Charges will be sought.
- Officer Panther made a traffic stop near Wilkins/Blackstone Streets. The 21-year-old female was arrested for a conditional bond violation.
- Officers were dispatched to the area of Laurel Court/Laurel Lane for a disorderly group of subjects. Ultimately, one 21-year-old female, two 20-year-old males, and one 19-year-old male were arrested for CCW and Resisting & Obstructing.
