DETAILS: On Friday, May 29, 2026, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Amarillo Police Department officers responded to a shopping center parking lot near 34th Avenue and Coulter Street on a reported crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The investigation revealed the incident began as a road rage encounter between the drivers of two vehicles. After the drivers became involved in a physical altercation, the victim was returning to his vehicle when the suspect allegedly drove into him, pinning him between their two vehicles.
The suspect left the scene and drove himself to the Amarillo Police Department. He was identified as 33-year-old Keegan James Cassidy.
Cassidy was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into the Randall County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
