OPD Patrol Officers Make Arrests, Recover Guns and Narcotics

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and reduce violent crime, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) recently made arrests and recovered multiple firearms and narcotics.
On May 20, 2026, OPD Patrol Officers in East Oakland responded to multiple ShotSpotter activations in the 1700 block of 83rd Avenue. Officers located a shooting scene at a nearby residence and detained multiple individuals. A search warrant was executed at the residence, which led to the recovery of two AR-style pistols. Three individuals were arrested for firearms-related offenses.
On May 23, 2026, OPD Patrol Officers in East Oakland conducted a traffic stop in the 10100 block of International Boulevard. Officers observed a short-barreled rifle in the rear seat of the vehicle. The driver was arrested for firearms-related offenses and for being prohibited from possessing firearms.
On May 27, 2026, OPD Patrol Officers in East Oakland responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of Arizona Street. Upon arrival, officers observed several individuals inside the vehicle with narcotics in plain view. Three individuals were arrested for drug-related offenses, and officers recovered evidence consistent with narcotics sales, including money and scales.
OPD remains committed to proactive policing by removing illegal firearms and drugs from our neighborhoods and will continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of the community.
