Amarillo Police investigate shooting at Thompson Park

DETAILS:
On June 2, 2026, at approximately 9:20 p.m., officers with the Amarillo Police Department were dispatched to Thompson Park in response to a report of shots fired. While officers were on the way to the call, dispatch advised that a male victim with serious injuries was being transported by private vehicle to a local hospital. Officers and investigators with the Amarillo Police Department -Violent Crimes Unit were able to locate the scene of the shooting at Thompson Park.
