Suspect Arrested Following Attempted Car Theft and Battery in Hesperia

SUSPECT: Christophe Acosta Pichinte, 34-years-old, Resident of Hesperia
VICTIMS: 1) Adult Male

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 02, 2026, at 5:27 a.m., deputies from the Victor Valley station responded to 11500 block of Greenwood Street in Hesperia following a report of an individual lying in the roadway.
During the investigation, deputies learned an adult male, later identified as Christophe Acosta Pichinte, entered an open residential garage without permission. Two residents confronted Pichinte and attempted to remove him from the property. During the encounter, Pichinte became aggressive and struck one of the victims in the face.
Pichinte then ran toward a vehicle parked on the property and attempted to drive away. The victims intervened and successfully removed Pichinte from the vehicle before he could leave the scene.
Deputies contacted Pichinte and took him into custody without incident. He was arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center, where he was booked for attempted vehicle theft, trespassing, and battery.
