DETAILS: On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Amarillo Police officers responded to a major crash involving a patrol unit near Bayswater and Coulter Road.
The preliminary investigation showed both the patrol unit and a passenger vehicle were traveling southbound on Coulter Road when the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the patrol unit, causing both vehicles to spin out of control.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and treated for their injuries and released.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was determined to be intoxicated. Micah Glenn Lacy, 28, was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury after being medically cleared at a local hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing.
