| On May 17th, 2026, deputies assigned to the city of Thousand Oaks responded to a commercial burglary call at a small grocery store in the Dos Vientos Community of Thousand Oaks. Deputies learned a male subject forced entry into the business and stole U.S. currency and a large quantity of California Lottery scratcher tickets. Through collaboration between Sheriff’s East County detectives, the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit, and the Security and Law Enforcement Division of the California Lottery, the suspect was identified as Thousand Oaks resident, Randall Sellner. On May 29th, 2026, detectives with the East County Investigations Bureau (SEU and Burglary Unit) served a search warrant at Sellner’s residence and obtained evidence further linking him to the crime being investigated. During the service of the search warrant, Sellner was found hiding underneath his grandmother’s bed. Sellner was taken into custody and booked for a violation of 459 PC – Burglary. On June 2nd, 2026, the Ventura County District Attorney filed one count 459 PC along with several special allegations / enhancements. Sellner remains in the custody of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office with his bail set at $15,000.
