Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of May 25-31, 2026
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
Robberies
There were four robberies during the past week.
On Monday, 05-25-26, at approximately 5:49 p.m., at the Serramonte Center, a victim had his necklace and pendant ripped from his neck. The victim stated that he and two friends exited the east side of the mall near a bakery and sat on a nearby pole. The victim then felt someone rip the gold necklace and pendant from his neck. The victim chased the suspect, and the two got in a physical altercation. A second suspect then punched the victim in the face. During the altercation, the victim gained possession of a set of car keys belonging to one of the suspects. The suspects then returned the necklace, hoping to get the car keys back in exchange. The victim refused to return the keys and walked away. They became involved in a second altercation, during which the victim threw the car keys. The suspects retrieved the car keys and fled in a blue sedan. The victim’s friends later located the pendant in the parking lot. Officers located the suspect vehicle shortly thereafter and arrested both suspects. The 17-year-old suspects, one a Lodi resident and the other a Stockton resident, were both booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery and conspiracy.
On Tuesday, 05-26-26, at approximately 7:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Home Depot at the Westlake Shopping Center on a report of a robbery. An asset protection specialist stated that a suspect entered the store, selected a knife from the hardware department, tore open the packaging, concealed the knife in the front pouch of his hoodie, then walked to an adjacent aisle and selected a torch. The suspect then went upstairs to the plumbing department, tore open the packaging, and concealed the torch in his front right pants pocket. The suspect exited the store onto the bridge that connects the store to the second level of the parking structure without paying for the merchandise. The asset protection specialist identified himself to the suspect and asked him to return the merchandise. The suspect threw the torch over the bridge. The asset protection specialist then asked for the knife. The suspect removed the knife from the front pouch of his hoodie and flipped his wrist, causing the knife to open halfway. The asset protection specialist was able to grab the suspect’s shoulder and forearm and retrieve the knife. The suspect then fled into the parking structure and out of sight. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 14 to 18 years old, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with medium-length black hair that was shorter on the sides. He was wearing a black hoodie, maroon sweatpants, and black and white shoes. This investigation is ongoing.
On Wednesday, 05-27-26, at approximately 4:11 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Target at the Serramonte Center on a report of a robbery. An asset protection agent stated that the suspect entered the store, selected a suitcase, and concealed numerous pairs of pants inside it before exiting the store without paying. The asset protection agent approached the suspect, identified himself, and asked the suspect to return to the store. The asset protection agent stated that the suspect said, “Get out of the way,” as he pushed past him, leaving the suitcase behind. The suspect was later located a short distance from the store, walking westbound on Serramonte Boulevard. The suspect, a 28-year-old San Mateo resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery.
On Wednesday, 05-27-26, at approximately 9:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Santa Cruz Avenue on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that he was driven home by his friend. His parents came outside to assist him since he is wheelchair bound. As he was being pushed in his wheelchair, two suspects approached him on foot and attempted to remove his imitation diamond-encrusted Cartier watch. One of the suspects then pointed a handgun at the victim. In order to avoid escalating the encounter, the victim surrendered his watch. The suspects fled in a black SUV. The first suspect was described as a younger Black male wearing a black face mask, possibly a gray beanie, a black puffer jacket with a dark gray hood, black and light gray sweatpants, and gray shoes. The second suspect was described as a younger Black male wearing a black face mask, a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and green and white shoes. This investigation is ongoing.

Have you signed up to receive these alerts? Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
