Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges following an investigation.
Members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation in the 2000 block of North Jessup Street in reference to illegal drug sales. On June 2nd at approximately 1:11 p.m., officers executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of North Jessup Street. Officers located 35-year-old Daniel McClain and 23-year-old Michael Braxton, who were taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered 694 grams of marijuana, drug packaging material and $1,623.00 in U.S. currency.
McClain was charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance- Tier 1
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child- Two Counts
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
Officers confirmed Braxton had an outstanding warrant for a violation of probation. Braxton was processed on his arrest warrant and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
