In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 5, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed a narcotics search warrant at the home of 49-year-old Marlone Laquinn Carson in Marion.
During the search, deputies located and seized 41 grams of cocaine, 1 gram of crack cocaine, marijuana, an AR-15 rifle, and ammunition.
Carson was taken into custody and charged with the following:
• Felony Trafficking in Cocaine
• Felony Possession of Cocaine
• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Cocaine
• Felony Maintaining a Dwelling, Vehicle, or Place for Controlled Substances
• Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
He was issued a $140,000 secured bond.
"This arrest is the result of the continued dedication of our team to remove illegal drugs from our communities," said Chief Deputy Nathan Mace. "Drug trafficking has no place in McDowell County, and we will continue working with our law enforcement partners to hold offenders accountable."
