Wilmington Police have arrested a woman in connection to a theft incident following an investigation.
On June 3rd at approximately 1:14 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1900 block of North Market Street in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting person who advised them a former employee had stolen $9,951.26 in U.S. currency from the business. Through the course of the investigation, officers identified 35-year-old Laytanza Hinton as the suspect. Subsequently, officers responded to the 700 block of East 10th Street and located Hinton, where she was taken into custody without incident.
Hinton has been charged with the following offenses:
She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
