INCIDENT: Fatal crash
LOCATION: Amethyst Road and Northstar Avenue, Victorville
DECDENT: 67-year-old Male Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY:
On Friday, June 5, 2026, at about 5:07 p.m., deputies from Victorville, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the area of Amethyst Road and Northstar Avenue for a two-vehicle injury crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed a white Chevrolet S10 drove north on Amethyst Road toward the intersection of Northstar Avenue. The S10 traveled into opposing lanes, ran the stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a white Infiniti Q50 stopped at the intersection. The driver of the S10 sustained major injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
The adult male driver of the Infinity remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. He was later transported to Desert Valley Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team were on scene and assumed the investigation.
Amethyst Road at the intersection of Northstar Avenue was closed for about three hours for the investigation.
