...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS... .Strong southwest winds with low humidity, hot temperatures, and deep mixing will elevate the risk for rapid fire spread over parts of northwest and west-central NM Tuesday. In addition, any dry lightning strikes that occur over western NM Monday may lead to rapid fire spread Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Fire Weather Watch.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101) and West Central Mountains (Zone 105).
* TIMING...From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 8 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHWEST PLATEAU ... WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS
