INCIDENT: Single Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Rancho Road and Lilac Road, Adelanto, CA 92301
VICTIM: 17-year-old male (deceased, pending next of kin notification)
VEHICLE: 2013 Dodge Charger
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 2:37 a.m., emergency personnel from the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Rancho Road and Lilac Road, in the City of Adelanto.
It was determined a Dodge Charger drove east on Rancho Road at an excessive speed with eight occupants. The driver lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Rancho Road and Lilac Road. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its side. At least one occupant was ejected from the vehicle, six occupants were transported to a nearby hospital for a range of injuries and a 17-year-old occupant succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Regional Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and assumed the investigation. The road was closed for approximately six hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
